Crazy for the Quilts and a few pics of them!

It has been so incredible to get to open each package and see the very Sweet little Love quilts for the babies in Ethiopia. I am so priveleged to get to bring these little Treasures with us tomorrow
So much Love, creativity and Heart were put into each one. I can seriously feel the Love you have filled them with and I know they will be so appreciated too. A few of you have mentioned that these were your first quilts? It might be time to give up your day jobs and go into quilting full time!!! Thank you all so much for the quilts and especially for all the Love & Prayers.

Quilt Love update!!!

We are receiving the Sweetest little Love quilts!!! Thank you quilt Angels! We will be Leaving on Jan.1st for Africa!!! So if you could ship them as soon as possible that would be so Great!!!!
We will select the winners when we return mid January and with so many amazing quilts we will have help selecting the winners for the prizes. Thank you again for your showing your Quilt Love to the precious baby's in the orphanage.

I don't like socks & I almost never wear them! I was born barefoot and I am happier that way. It is a genetic thing , My three girls(My Daughters & My Grand baby) also share this dislike.

I don't smoke and I have a Large Cigar box collection. I think they are Beautiful!

I always Loved it when my children were home from School. The summer was never long enough. I would let them stay home from School & take them to lunch. We called it a mental
Health Day.

I Hated High School and the class that helped me get through was Jewelry Class.

I once was a window Model in a Clothing Store in Denver. It sounds Glamorous but I had to

stand there for hours without moving & It was hot and sweaty & people would come up to the window and make you Laugh.

I don't like very many rides at the amusement park. I either feel like I want to throw up or I think I am going to die and I begin to sing Jesus Loves me!

I am Hilarious and some of My friends & Family just don't know it.

I still haven't decided what I want to be when I grow up(sorry that's 8)

Eye Patch Pattern

A wonderful friend of mine has a Sweet little Grand baby that needs to wear an eye patch to help correct & strengthen her vision. She said that her eye patches were $10.00 a piece. I took one apart and made a pattern, I made 17 of them for about $10.00 total in just under 3 hours. I also found a free pattern on line here from a mom that designed them for her little one.

H is for Horseys, Having Fun & The Happy Car

We love to feed the miniature Horses down the road at my neighbors house. Today it was Cricket that enjoyed the treats we brought. She was born in June this year and we met her when she was just a couple of days old. The happy car was a fun find that my Girlfriend and I came across at a barn sale this summer. We got allot of Funny looks as we had to test it out & laughed so hard I almost wet myself. I was happy to buy it for $75.00 & I found out that it is from the 50s & they sell in antique shops for near $800.00. As you can see Sweet Lady Long legs can make it move & she says she can't wait until she can ride with her Sister! A giant wooden spool is the backdrop for the last picture. A wonderful Day with my G-Baby it was.

Mushrooms anyone?

I Like to bring a little outside into my House especially in the cooler months. My daughter & I spotted these Morel Mushrooms at our favorite thrift store near denver a few weeks ago.

They are handmade and very heavy. I added a rusty brown patina & they now reside in my living room.

Bobby Pin Barrettes

Take 5 minutes & Create these Sweet hair Treats. I used Canvas scrapbooking brads with soft colors & vintage designs on them, Bobby pin sets with a round metal disk to attach the brads to & E6000 clear industrial strength glue. You could also use old buttons or rhinestones. They cost me about 60 cents each but if you buy your supplies in bulk they can be made for pennies.

Life is Art

A Beautiful Blue Jay was singing loudly as it was perched on the arm of my patio chair Today.

It made me think of My Mom. She was an Artist and she also Loved Birds. I thought it was very appriopriate the blue jay chose my "life is Art" chair to sit on and sing to us from.

Pine Cones, Peanut Butter & Bird Seed

It was a wonderful Autumn Day last week as we created the old Pine cones covered in Peanut Butter and rolled in Bird seeds. My G-Baby was excited to hang them & watch as they were quickly devoured by the birds. Summer Sewing

I love to sew for my G-baby. When she sees that I have made her something she gets so happy and starts taking off her clothes to try them on. I hunt for vintage & unique fabrics on etsy and ebay. Thrift stores & tags sales can also have many treasures!
